I’m a hormone health and gut health practitioner, holistic nutritionist, as well as a group fitness and personal trainer. I believe good health means waking up every day feeling vibrant with a clear head and strong body. As an active woman, I understand how important this is to succeed in our professional and personal lives. My goal is to help women get to the root cause of health issues holistically using food as medicine, supplementation support and adapting lifestyle habits.
It is important to remember that nutrition and lifestyle habits are within our control. There are changes we can start making today to improve our health and feel our best.
HI, I’M ANDRA.
My Story
For much of my adult life I dealt with gut issues that included indigestion, painful distention, constipation and constant fatigue. The usual ‘remedies’ like eating more fibre, taking laxatives and supplementing with iron never made a sustainable difference.
After years of struggling, I turned to holistic health and nutrition to get answers. I was shocked at how quickly I started feeling better just because I changed my diet. By focusing on real, whole foods, I was able to reverse many of the symptoms I experienced for so many years. This revelation led me to enroll in The Institute of Holistic Nutrition to become a Certified Nutritional Practitioner.
Years later into my professional career as a fitness trainer, I started my second holistic health journey focused on my hormone health. Due to the nature of my job, my energy output was extreme. Prolonged over exertion was seriously affecting my hormones and my nervous system. In my prime-child bearing years, I wanted to get to the bottom of this.
The first step I took was I came off of birth control after 10+ years of being on it. I then learned that the symptoms I was experiencing were a result of an underlying hormone imbalance. Through prioritizing adrenal health and regulating my nervous system alongside a hormone supporting diet and supplement plan, I was able to make significant strides in rebalancing my hormones.
Hormone health and gut health are important to me for two reasons: I’ve experienced symptoms firsthand from imbalances in both, and I’ve been able to address them using a root cause approach.
In a world with so much health misinformation, I am passionate about educating others on how these systems should optimally work.
